Harmonic hawks, friends!! It’s time for our end of year update with all the information we can offer on where things currently stand!
Shipping Updates
Shipping is continuing as expected, given the same timelines we gave you in November.
Currently, our Australia ship is arriving and orders will begin to go out shortly. We’re waiting on a few more items to get to Australia so everything can ship out at once, including the vagabond satchels which are taking a bit longer to arrive. Once it’s all there and ready to go, folks in New Zealand and Australia will see shipping notifications as your packages are sent out. We sent out the final shipping notice NZ/AU backers this week; if you need to change your address at this point, please email [email protected]!
The United States order is still scheduled to arrive December 31st. It will take as much as a week or two to get to our facility in Atlanta, at which point we’ll get materials to our reshippers in Canada and the UK/EU while we ship the US and rest of world orders. We can’t guarantee when exactly those materials will arrive, but we will keep you posted!

You’ll notice in the tracker it estimates the first leg of the trip (to the Panama Canal on Dec 23) not the entire trip. As we’ve mentioned before, the moment that boat gets to port, we can start getting orders out to you folks. Please follow along if you want the most updated info!
Please remember that December 31st is still an estimation, and not a guarantee. Unfortunately, we can’t do anything at this point beyond waiting for our literal ship to come in. Once that happens, we’ll post an update letting you know that the time has come!
In the meantime, please ensure your address in Backerkit is correct as we’re locking those down as the ship comes in at the end of the month.

Foolhardy foxes, vagabonds!! It’s time for another update and we have some news about the printing status and where the games are!
Printing & Shipping
Everything is printed and on a ship! Huzzah! This is the most exciting news!
We have one shipment bound for Australia directly and another that is coming to the United States. We initially expected both ships to arrive in early December—we paid extra to book the first ship we could to the US—but unfortunately that ship has been delayed. There’s little we can do to make it go faster or guarantee any specific schedule.
The ship bound for Australia should arrive in mid-December; the US-bound ship will arrive around Dec 31st of this year. As soon as the game is with us, we will start shipping to backers! If the ship arrives when they estimate, this puts the game in backers hands in early 2022 (and maybe earlier for AU/NZ backers).
We appreciate that this is frustrating and not the news anyone, including us, wanted. The global shipping crisis is causing massive delays and while we are doing our best to navigate the situation, we wish we could do more to get Root: The RPG to you sooner.
Thank you for your patience as we await the books. We appreciate the kindness and support you've shown during this process. We’ll continue to keep you up to date on information as we receive it.
New Free RPG Day Release: Bertram’s Cove!
As part of Free RPG Day, we released Bertram’s Cove, a new clearing for Root the RPG! This clearing will be available as a FREE product (plus shipping) on our webstore this coming weekend as part of our Black Friday sale starting tonight at midnight!
You will also be able to grab the Bertram’s Cove quickstart on Drivethrurpg for free! Check it out and add the clearing to your Root games! You can find our webstore on our website!

Final PDFs, Printing, & Shipping Update

Beneficent bluejays, everyone! We’re happy to share what’s been going on as we wait for the games to arrive!
Printing & Shipping
Printing is going great! Things are going to plan! As we mentioned in our last update, all of the books, maps, GM screens, dice, and more should be on a boat to us within the next month! Shipping from China is currently a tricky situation, but we’re working with some awesome folks to make sure things keep moving. We’ll let you know as soon as we have confirmation everything has shipped to us!
While we shared some pictures last time, we know you wanted to see more! Here’s some more photos from the samples we received:
Our shipping schedule is on track as we mentioned in the last update; once we receive the products, shipping will begin immediately to backers. Assuming everything proceeds according to plan, we will be sending everything out to backers so that packages arrive before the 2021 holidays.
We will be locking down address changes on November 10th. If you need to update your address, please do so in Backerkit before then. After that, addresses will be locked down and your items will be shipped to the most recently added address in Backerkit.
Final PDFs
We’re excited to send you all the final PDFs. These are the official final versions of the Root: The RPG Core Book, Travelers & Outsiders, and the Clearing Booklet! Play materials are included with the downloads! Maps can be found in the Core Book download! Please enjoy the game and have a wonderful time exploring the Woodland with your players! We can’t wait to hear how your games are going!

Printing & Shipping Update

Bewildered badgers, friends! We’re excited to say we’ve heard back from the printer and have timelines for the shipping process!
Printing
We’ve gotten our samples back from the printer and they look absolutely amazing! Take a peek in the photos below to see how everything turned out! Everything is now being printed!
Shipping
Now that we are further into the printing process, it’s time to talk about shipping. Our printer assures us that everything will be on a boat to us in October, and we’re already working with our shipper to ensure that a boat is ready when everything is printed. While we may still encounter delays due to the global shipping crisis, we expect to receive everything in November.
Once we receive the products, shipping will begin immediately to backers. Assuming everything proceeds according to plan, we will be sending everything out to backers so that packages arrive before the 2021 holidays.
As such, we will be locking down address changes on October 15th. If you need to update your address, please do so in Backerkit before October. After that, addresses will be locked down and your items will be shipped to the most recently added address in Backerkit.
Going Forward
We will continue to update you as we receive news from the printer and when we get shipping updates. Given this will take some time, you can expect to hear from us in October when everything will ship from the printer to us.

Rambunctious raccoons! We’ve been hard at work getting everything together and are excited to say we have an update for you on Travelers & Outsiders!
Travelers & Outsiders
We are delighted to bring you the final PDF of Travelers & Outsiders! Other than some minor edits, this will be the final text and layout for the supplement.
Now that the final is ready, we’re sending it off to the printer! We won’t have any information on printer estimates for a bit, but as soon as we do we’ll keep you updated!
If you have any last minute feedback on Travelers & Outsiders before we go to print with it, please email us at [email protected]! Time is of the essence, though as we’re sending it to the printer in the next few days!
Printing & Going Forward
By the end of this week, everything will be at the printer! We’re so excited to have wrapped up the project and thank you for all your enthusiasm, feedback, and engagement!
We won’t have any updates about printing timelines for a while. We expect to have more information at the end of August or in September. As soon as we have information, we will update you on what’s going on and when we can expect printed products.
